CALL TO ORDER 
Eric Tolles, President, called the June Chapter Meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.

Pledge of Allegiance.

INTRODUCTIONS
The meeting began with self-introductions of members and visitors.

TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer's report given by Faisal Jurdi. 
    >Account Balances as of 4/29/02:
       - Checking $ 4,777.22

       - Savings  $ 11,665.79

CITY CORNER
Don Godfrey, City of Buena Park, announced that the City as in the midst of building a new City Hall and that there are numerous new commercial projects either being built or in the pipeline for the City of Buena Park.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
President Tolles gave a report on the Building Standards Commission meeting.

• The Building Standards Commission met on May 2, 2002 in Sacramento.

• Codes adopted for the State of California will be known as the 2001 California Building Code.

• The 1999 National Electrical Code with amendments will be adopted as the California Electrical Code effective November 1, 2002.

• Four Chapter members attended the meeting and are in agreement about the need to "depoliticize" the process of adopting codes.

Letter from Attorney General Bill Lockyear was presented.

      > Complaints concerning violations of the Disabled Access Codes

      > Requesting Building Officials help in enforcing regulations.

Letters were presented and discussed as follows:

      >  Pex Pipe in the Plumbing Code as an "Alternate Material"
      >  Trac Pipe CSST as approved in the current Mechanical Code 

CHAPTER BUSINESS
President Tolles announced that the Chapter has 60 paid members, which is $2,400 in dues. He stated that although this is excellent, much more is necessary to accomplish the ideals of the Chapter.

• Requested that members support other revenue generating activities such as the Education Committee's efforts to provide training through seminars held each year.

PROGRAM

• Lawrence P. Segrue, Architect Consultant to the California Architects Board (CAB)

• Overview of the CAB, the Architects Practice Act and the Building Official contact program
