MEETING MINUTES February 21, 2002 |
CALL TO ORDER
Eric Tolles, President, called the June Chapter Meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.
Pledge of Allegiance.
INTRODUCTIONS
The meeting began with self-introductions of members and visitors.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer's report given by Faisal Jurdi.

CITY CORNER
Mike Hudson, City of Buena Park, presented current projects in the City of Buena Park.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
President Tolles reported that the Attorney General's opinion on Pasadena's code amendments for acceptance of International Building Code, restated the authority of the Building Official to accept alternate standards based on case-by-case basis.
COMMUNICATIONS
Jim Martin, City of Garden Grove, proposed that the Chapter look into new ways for marketing and promotion of alternative methods and materials that could be used to review projects designed to different codes.
The members voted to create a new committee for this purpose and directed that the committee return to the Chapter with a plan for the work of the committee before proceeding. It was suggested that the committee review the Performance Code and prepare guidelines for acceptance of alternate methods and materials. Jim Martin accepted to be the Chair for this committee.
The members voted to approve payment of $350 to CALBO to be used for refreshments at the ABM.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
President Tolles invited the members to submit applications for membership to Code Development Committee, Education Committee, Communication Committee, and Performance Based/Alternative Methods Committee.
CALBO Update: Julie Seay reported that CALBO is now a member of ICC.
PROGRAM
Isam Hasenin, Engineering Plan Check Officer, City of Long Beach
o New changes to the California Disabled Access regulations.
